Abstract

To discuss the feasibility and value of ultrasound contrast agent SonoVue in renal artery detection. 35 patients with hypertension history were enrolled. First, two-dimensional and color Doppler flow images of renal artery and then ultrasound contrast agent SonoVue were used and compared. The results of renal artery image were ranked from 0—3 scale. Before the ultrasound contrast, 8 patients' extrarenal renal artery image were scale 2; 20 patients were scale 1;7 patients were scale 0. After the ultrasound contrast, 16 patients' extrarenal renal artery image were scale 3; 19 patients were scale 2; 32 patients showed normal renal artery.3 patients had renal artery stenosis in the proximal right renal artery. There were only 16 cases of images of the proximal renal artery before contrast. After contrast, there were 70 cases of images of the proximal renal artery. After the intravenous administration of SonoVue, all the patients' renal artery color Doppler flow images signal are observed enhanced, and the images are continuously enhancing. Ultrasound contrast agent SonoVue can significantly improve the color Doppler flow image and raise the renal artery image grade. Contrast media can show the change of renal artery vascular lumen and vascular wall, it can also measure the degree of lumen stenosis directly. SonoVue can be used for the primary diagnosis of renal artery stenosis. It can identify some color Doppler false positive and false negative cases.
