Abstract
There are some systems that involve impacts, e.g. vibrating screens. Sometimes unwanted low frequency vibration occurs in such vibroimpact systems. This report examines effects of a bouncing mass on the low frequency vibration using an experimental apparatus. Results show that the variation of bouncing height has exciting or damping effect depending on its phase related to the motion of the gravity center.
