Abstract
Background: Anxiety and depression have negatively influenced the quality of life among breast cancer patients, potentially interfered with their compliance to treatment, and eventually affected their overall survival. The use of antidepressants has been the standard therapy but may present with several side effects, e.g., drug-to-drug interactions, dependence, and tolerance. As a novel method to address these stressors, virtual reality (VR) utilizes non-invasive simulation digital technology that generates sensory experiences which allow the subjects to interact with the stimuli.
