Abstract

Monolithically integrated flared-amplifier master oscillator power amplifiers (MFA-MOPA) have been fabricated that operate to greater than 1.1 W CW in a single diffraction-limited output beam. The device operates in a single spatial and spectral mode throughout its operating range. The farfield radiation pattern is a single diffraction-limited output beam which does not exhibit any steering as a result of changes in injection current.
