Abstract

This chapter describes the creation of job descriptions and job specifications through the execution of a job analysis, which is one of the most important HR functions in any organization. By examining job descriptions and specifications in a forensic laboratory context, readers come to understand the process and priorities involved in creating and documenting the specifications that must be met for a candidate to fill a vacant position. A sample job description for a forensic laboratory scientist is provided as well.
