1.1 Assessing Traditional and Ambiguous Anxiety Symptoms in Youth With Autism Spectrum Disorder

Abstract

We aim to describe the following: 1) challenges associated with differentiating autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and anxiety symptoms; 2) the presentation of anxiety disorders in treatment seeking youth with ASD; and 3) the psychometric properties of an adapted diagnostic interview for assessing anxiety in ASD—the Anxiety Disorders Interview Schedule/Autism Spectrum Addendum (ADIS/ASA).
