Introduction: From mastectomy to breast conservation and now oncoplastic surgery, the history of breast cancer surgery developed over the last 100 years. This extraordinary trip from large to minimal resection holds several interesting facts. Did you know that in the early 20ies Geoffrey Keynes in London was the pioneer of breast conservation? Did you now that Demmer in Vienna reported about breast conservation and more than 1000 patients underwent breast conservation long before the start oft the first prospective trials?
