Abstract

Introduction: The Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery (FLS) program has been extensively validated. We have shown that pre-training on other simulators decreases consumable costs for FLS. The goal of this study was to evaluate feasibility, benefit, and cost of a laparoscopic surgery intern curriculum that integrated proficiency-based pre-training with FLS training, as well as level-appropriate cognitive material. Methods: Surgery interns (n=37) were enrolled in an IRB-approved prospective study.
