Abstract

With nearly 1000 fatalities in 30 years from a series of disasters, much focus has been applied to major incident management within stadia. There is limited knowledge on the medical needs of adult supporters outwith the disaster setting. The “Green Guide” outlines the requirements for medical support at such venues in the UK, but has no specific advice on how children should be catered for. We aimed to identify the frequency and pattern of children’s presentations to the medical areas at one of the largest sporting venues in Europe and compare and contrast this with that of adults.
