Abstract

Onboard 4DCBCT imaging technique minimizes the motion blurring and provides valuable kinetic information of the patient anatomy prior to radiation treatment. The quality of 4DCBCT image is sensitive to the acquisition settings such as the gantry rotation speed, number of gantry rotations, x-ray pulse rate and tube current, as well as the patient’s breathing pattern. The aim of this study is to develop a technique that optimizes the image acquisition parameters on a patient specific basis while minimizing the scanning time and patient radiation dose.
