Abstract
The objective of this study was to evaluate the use of screening, brief intervention and referral to treatment (SBIRT) at the timing of a routine annual physical exam as an effective tool for the early identification of substance use behavior and motivation to change behavior, especially in the setting of the increase risk of severe COVID-19 symptoms and e-cigarette or vaping associated lung injury (EVALI) associated with adolescents who vape.
