Abstract
An oscillation-based electric current sensor with a micro magnet was proposed to satisfy the increasing needs of DC current power supply for monitoring the electricity consumption by either single wire or two-wire appliance cord. A prototype DC current sensor was fabricated and measured. In the case of a two-wire electrical appliance cord, it was found that the change of the maximum value of the output voltage was approximately proportional to the applied DC current, and varied from 5.92 to 21.1 [mV] when the DC current changed from 0 to 2 [A] under an excited voltage of 5 [V_<pp>]. As a summary, the prototype DC current sensor was observed to measure the output voltage constantly as a linear function of the DC current.
