Abstract

It is a retrospective study based on cases handled by the same team in outpatient clinics of the Institute of Mastology Mama Uba and Federal University of Vicosa-based electronic medical records from January 2002 to January 2012 with data analysis programs for R and SPSS PC. There were 113 cases operated in the service, with a mean age of 58 years (range 24-88 years), with 15 new cases in 2011, coming from 21 different cities, predominantly Vicosa-Mg (33%). The predominant staging were Stage I (54. 8%) and Stage II (36. 2%) The surgical approach was conservative in most cases (65%). We had one case that was not possible to find the lymph node technique (0. 8%) and no events are allergic to the product. The sentinel node was negative by histological examination in 69. 9%. Following post-treatment, we have 4. 4% and 0. 8% of death cases of metastatic disease, and these findings correlate with sentinel lymph node positivity (p> 0. 05). We conclude there is good service on our results of sentinel lymph node by patent blue and little intraoperative complications.
