Abstract

One major advantage of polymer-optical fibre (POF) material is its yarn-like character. Therefore, POF can be processed into various textile structures. To highlight some of these possibilities, this chapter gives a short overview of classic textile fabric production technologies. Besides the textile structure and the manufacturing process, possibilities and limitations of the forming process are given. Additionally, further literature information for each fabric technology is provided.
