Abstract

Graphene-based polymeric composites are widely used for improving different properties. Effective improvement of mechanical, electrical, electrochemical, thermal properties, etc. is largely dependent on dispersion characteristics of graphene in matrix polymers. Several factors play important roles toward achieving structural uniformity in the composites. Attaining the desired properties at lower proportion of graphene is the key route of property optimization. Different techniques as well as their suitable combinations constitute major approaches in this regard. Apart from that, graphene as well as polymeric matrices may be modified in different ways to achieve improved homogeneity in filler dispersion. This chapter briefly portrays the overview of commonly used methodologies to achieve improved dispersion of graphene in its polymeric composites.
