Abstract

The possibility of the electrodynamic acceleration of small conducting particles in a pulsed magnetic field generated by induction coils is theoretically justified. It is shown that, at a current pulse amplitude on a kiloampere level and a pulse duration of several dozen microseconds, a metal particle of submillimeter size can be directionally accelerated up to a velocity ranging from units to tens of centimeters per second.
