Abstract
At present, high-performance polymers play a significant role in different applications, specifically in the automotive sectors. High strength, less weight, and the fuel economy have become the priorities of the automotive and aerospace industries. Utilization of the synthetic fibers as a reinforcement in these polymers leading to the development of the polymer composites not only improves the distinct mechanical properties but also reduces the weight of the components. This chapter shows a description of the high-performance polymers and their utilizations for developing the polymer composites. This chapter also describes the different processing techniques for composite development and their mechanical properties and applications in the automotive sectors.
