Abstract
The goals of this study were the following: 1) to assess the cumulative incidence of any psychotropic medication use from birth through age seven years in a large, statewide Medicaid-insured population; 2) to assess cumulative psychotropic exposure, measured in days, by age seven years; and 3) to compare clinical characteristics of preschool initiators (aged 1-4 years) with early school medication initiators (aged 5-7 years).
