Abstract
Whereas some studies have investigated differences in the prevalence of spanking of children as a function of affiliation with different Christian groups in high-income countries, there has been little consideration of the relationship between a range of disciplinary practices and a broader range of religious groups in lower-income countries. This study aimed to determine whether children in Protestant households were more likely to be exposed to spanking and other disciplinary practices than Muslim households in Cameroon, with Catholic households having a disciplinary pattern between these 2 groups.
