Abstract

Previous studies have shown an association between certain self-reported psychosocial protective factors and functional outcomes in aggressive, mentally ill adolescents and moderation of depression in abused, court-involved adolescents. The objective of this study was to explore whether self-reported sense of humor or religiosity were associated with a diagnosis of depression, severity of depression, or suicidality among adolescents in an outpatient psychiatric clinic.
