Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic has severely impacted people’s lives around the globe. Social distancing, home confinement, economic challenges, and COVID-19–related illness and deaths have the potential to significantly affect mental health and cause stress, anxiety, and depression, to which adolescents may be especially vulnerable. One promising approach to reduce anxiety and depression in adolescents is the novel neuroscience-based mindfulness intervention Training for Awareness, Resilience, and Action (TARA) developed by our research team.
