Abstract

Individuals with ASD show consistent and persistent cognitive and social difficulties necessary for flexible goal-directed behavior. Adaptive targeted cognitive training (TCT) approaches have shown promise as a means to improve functional impairments in multiple pathologies (eg, schizophrenia, ADHD, dementia), but effective programs for the ASD population are lacking. Recent advances in the accessibility and portability of tablet-based and/or web-based training programs have made feasible the implementation of a novel, computerized, TCT program designed to leverage neuroplasticity in a pilot sample group of youth with ASD.
