Abstract

Previous research has consistently observed an association between screen time and poor mental health in youth. However, many studies have only used subjective self-report measures, which can be problematic due to recall biases and misestimation. Thus, more objective assessments are needed to better understand the impact of screen time on youth mental health. Recent advances in mobile sensing technology offer the unique opportunity to collect objective information continuously, in an unobtrusive manner.
