Abstract
This project aims to assess how trauma, evaluated by mental health diagnoses, life events, and involvement in child welfare, influences risk for substance use in pregnant/parenting foster youth. We also examine the relationship between psychiatric engagement (hospitalization, medication adherence) and substance use risks, as well as participants’ parenting attitudes and risks for child maltreatment.
