Abstract

Objective: In girls, precocious puberty (PP) presents with breast development, increased growth velocity and bone maturation before the age of 8yrs. The cause can be Central PP (CPP; or gonadotropin (Gn) dependent) or peripheral PP (P-PP; or Gn independent). A gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) test can distinguish between CPP and P-PP.
