Abstract

0.96<TEX>$(Na_{0.5}K_{0.5})NbO_3$</TEX>-0.04<TEX>$(Ba_{(1-x)}Sr_x)TiO_3$</TEX> lead free piezoelectric ceramics were synthesized to enhance the piezoelectric properties of (Na,K)<TEX>$NbO_3$</TEX>. The systhesis and sintering method were the conventional solid state reaction method and general sintering method in air atmosphere. The polymorphic phase transition(PPT) was observed at all composition(0 <TEX>$\leq$</TEX> x <TEX>$\leq$</TEX> 0.05) when <TEX>$(Ba_{(1-x)}Sr_x)TiO_3$</TEX> were added in the <TEX>$(Na_{0.5}K_{0.5})NbO_3$</TEX>. As Sr concentration was increased, grain size, dielectric loss(tan<TEX>$\delta$</TEX>) and mechanical quality factor(<TEX>$Q_m$</TEX>) were decreased and piezoelectric constant(<TEX>$d_{33}$</TEX>) and electromechanical coupling factor(<TEX>$k_p$</TEX>) were increased within a limited value. The optimized piezoelectric and properties, <TEX>$d_{33}$</TEX>, <TEX>$k_p$</TEX>, <TEX>$Q_m$</TEX>, and tand, of 0.96<TEX>$(Na_{0.5}K_{0.5})NbO_3$</TEX>-0.04<TEX>$(Ba_{(1-x)}Sr_x)TiO_3$</TEX> were 139 pC/N, 0.31 %, 95, 0.04 at the composition of x=0.04.
