Abstract

Labia minora surgeries are gaining popularity around the country. To date, we are limited in the data available to help us counsel patients, especially in the adolescent population. This study is meant to assess the actual selection of cases we operate and to assess the short term complications in our hospital. We conducted a retrospective study from 2006 to 2016. All cases of labia minora surgeries, in a context of elective surgery performed at 18 years old or younger, were retained. A review of the hospital chart was used to define the principal complaint of the patient at the time of first consultation, the time elapsed between the first consultation and the surgery, the criteria used to define a potential surgery case, the presence and type of short term complication and the satisfaction of the patient at the control visit. This is the first part of a future prospective study.
