Abstract

Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) is a breathing disorder characterised by the presence of repetitive episodes of upper airway obstruction during sleep. Vascular implications of recurrent airway obstruction, intermittent hypoxia, arousal from sleep, OSA induced hormonal and psychological changes, hypoxia induced neurological dysfunction and reduction in NO production links OSA with Erectile Dysfunction (ED).As both ED and OSA are considered as risk factors for cardiovascular diseases, identification of OSA is as important as cardiovascular risk assessment in men with ED.
