Abstract

Objective(s): The obstructed hemivagina and ipsilateral renal anomaly syndrome, known by the acronym OHVIRA, [1] is a rare, but specific Müllerian duct anomaly. Typically, patients present shortly after menarche with cyclic abdominal or pelvic pain. Atypical presentations have been described. To our knowledge, the incidence is unknown. A comprehensive literature review was carried out with the aim to provide an overview of different clinical presentations of the OHVIRA syndrome.
