Abstract

Female sexual dysfunction (FSD), including female orgasmic disorder affects up to 43% of women. It is an umbrella term which includes hypoactive sexual desire disorder, impaired arousal, orgasmic disorder and dyspareunia. Despite recent research and innovation, evidence-based treatments for FSD are lacking. Neuromodulation has long been used for the treatment of bladder dysfunction and recent evidence suggests that pudendal neuromodulation may have a role in the treatment of FSD, particularly anorgasmia.
