Abstract

In our magnet hospital environment, evidence-based practice has evolved as our standard operating procedure. The growth of technology has dramatically increased the volume of pediatric patients for sedated and nonsedated magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans. With this high volume, patient and family teaching becomes a challenge to offer a consistent, timely, and comprehensive learning experience for both the child and family. Whether the child is definitely being sedated or trying his or her MRI without sedation, this understanding is needed.
