Abstract
Endometriosis is a common condition with a heritability (disease variance attributable to genetics) estimated at around 50%. Family-based studies have indicated that it is unlikely that familial endometriosis has a monogenic component. Rather, endometriosis is a complex, polygenic disease with many variants across many genes and environmental factors contributing to risk [ [1] Zondervan T. Becker C.M. Missmer S.A. Endometriosis.
