Abstract

The clinical utility of a supportive relationship partner and high relationship quality in healing from sexual trauma has been demonstrated. Research shows committed relationships have positive effects on sexual and psychological well-being. Few studies, however, have assessed whether committed, stable relationships can act as a protective factor against decrements in sexual well-being for women with nonconsensual sexual experience (NSE) histories.
