Abstract
Isolation of the sum of triterpene glycosides from Zygophyllum oxianum plant is described. The effect of this preparation on the level of sugar in blood of rats with alloxan hyperglycemia and alloxan diabetes has been studied. It is established that this preparation exhibits a significant hypoglycemic effect in the case of both prophylactic and therapeutic administration. The mechanism of hypoglycemic action differs from that of the well-known anti-diabetic drug maninile.
