Abstract

The position of unevolved low mass stars in the (log Teff, Mbol) diagram, having relatively well determined bolometric magnitudes, effective temperatures and metal abundances is discussed in terms of helium and metal content of the objects. It is shown that the narrow width of the observational main sequence implies the relation: Δ Y / Δ Z=5±2.
