Abstract
The purpose of the article is to study in depth the development of musical art in Zadar (Croatia). This topic is of interest for its cultural value. In the article, the author compares the possibilities and obstacles in the development of musical art of this period, which in turn contributes to a clearer understanding of the specifics of the development of musical culture in this region of Croatia. Methodology. The study used historical and systemic, as well as cultural methods that allow separate components of the musical life of the city of Zadar to be considered as a complex phenomenon of Croatian culture with its national specificity. Scientific novelty. The article analyzes the development of musical culture of the city of Zadar (Croatia) from the period of the XVII–XVIII centuries, which has not yet become the object of a special study. Isolated little-known materials make a significant contribution to the study of Croatian musical culture and its interaction with European cultural traditions. Conclusions. With the help of the information found, individual elements of the stated problematic were analyzed in detail. Considered important components of musical culture of the city of Zadar, which contributed to the overall development of musical art in Croatia. The important aspects of the development of individual elements of the musical art of Zadar, as well as the possibility of the influence of these elements on the cultural status of Croatia are emphasized.
