Abstract
The study aims to determine the extent to which concert dithyramb is similar to chamber romance. The article considers concert dithyrambs, their structure and formation in connection with the poetic text interpretation. The researchers have studied the role that singers play in development of new performance criteria which formerly characterised chamber romances. The necessity for emergence of new professions - a concert-chamber singer and a vocal concertmaster - ensemble player - is determined. Scientific novelty of the work lies in taking a comprehensive approach to studying the concert genre of dithyramb, which possesses characteristics of solo piano compositions, bravura opera arias and chamber romances. As a result of the research, the authors have proposed the most appropriate approach to choosing expressive means by performers based on knowledge of the dithyramb genesis.
