Abstract

The study is devoted to the social composition of the accounting and loan Committee in the Irkutsk branch of the State Bank in the late XIX – early XX century. The author identifies the staff of the Committee of 23 people approved for office during 1895–1917. The class, age, and religious characteristics of the accounting and loan Committee members were determined. The main directions of their business and social activities are established. Typical features and features of the social composition of the Committee are revealed. The author concludes that the social composition of the accounting and loan Committee in the Irkutsk branch of the State Bank was typical for these structures. The management attracted a large commercial-industrial bourgeoisie to work in the Committee. Its core was the first Guild merchant class. However, the active participation of the accounting and loan Committee members in the municipal and public life of the region, in the formation of representative associations of entrepreneurs were the regional specifics of the social composition of this Committee.
