Abstract
The article examines the main causes of migration of the mountaineers of the North Caucasus in the territory of the Ottoman Empire. Disclosed goals of the Russian government, which is willing to release part of the fertile land, to reduce political and military activity in the region, as well as linking the migration of the Ottoman Empire with the development of the Mountaineers of the economy, the strengthening of military forces and others.
