Abstract

The article examines realization of the prefixal word-formative model “ ver- + English stem ” in the modern German language. The contextual analysis of such derivatives is conducted; groups of semantically similar verbal derivatives with the prefix ver- are identified. The paper shows productivity of this model in the modern German language, reveals peculiarities of word-formative integration of the English borrowings participating in realization of the prefixal model “ ver- + English stem ”.
