Abstract

The Collective model with the Kratzer potential has been used to study the properties of the γ-unstable odd nuclei. An uncoupled nucleon in the odd nucleus has been assumed to move freely in the j=1/2,3/2,5/2 orbits. The energy eigenvalues and eigenfunctions have been obtained in closed form from the analytical solution of the Hamiltonian for the odd-system. Excitation energy spectra of some selected W, Os, Pt and Hf isotopes have been predicted within this model. Due to lack of experimental B(E2) data, some intra-band and inter-band electric quadrupole transition rates were presented only for O179s isotope. Acceptable results have been obtained for these isotopes.
