Abstract
The title compound was obtained from a solution of the resolved compound as an acetonitrile 0.5 diethyl ether solvate, [Ru(C12H8N2)3](PF6)2.CH3CN.0.5(CH3CH2)2O. The cations possess idealized D3 symmetry with three bidentate phenanthroline ligands arranged about each RuII center in a propeller-like fashion. Assignment of the appropriate polar space group corroborates the absolute configuration of the compound with chemical and circular dichroism data.
