Abstract
The work presents differences between descriptive and normative grammar. The theoretical prerequisites of modern normative grammar and the principles on which the normative description is based are derived. The specific goals of the development of normative grammar of the Modern Bulgarian are defined. The tasks for their implementation are also outlined.
