Abstract

First results from μ+SR measurements on the superconducting Chevrel compounds Eu0.75Sn0.25Mo6Sr7.6Se0.4 and SnMo6S4Se4 will be presented. These two compounds have nearly the same critical temperature (Tc=5 K) and the results of the Eu sample in the superconducting state will be compared with those obtained with the nonmagnetic one. Strong magnetic effects due to the Eu 4f-moments are observed at all temperatures, but no evidence of a transition into a magnetically ordered phase could be detected at low temperature.
