Abstract

The article deals with an important problem of soft skills development for future primary school teachers. The theoretical basis of the work rests on the scientific researches of the meanings of the soft skills of primary school teachers done by different authors and organizations. The purpose of the article is to reveal the relevance of the formation of soft skills of primary school teachers in the New Ukrainian School and emphasize its importance. It is found that soft skills of future primary school teachers are divided into the individual qualities of education seekers, which include the following aspects: the ability to make decisions and solve problem situations; set tasks and formulate goals clearly; positive thinking and optimism; and customer orientation of educational services end result. Besides, communication qualities of the future primary school teacher include the ability to formulate thoughts comprehensibly, express personal position; to communicate with parents, students and colleagues; to cope with management; to interact with various types of people; to arrange and moderate meetings; to listen to and take into account all points of view; to respond reasonably, on time and politely; to prepare high-quality presentations, reports and speeches; as well as to take into account the intercultural andinternational characteristics of education seekers, colleagues and parents. Morover, managerial qualities include the ability to work in a team, to unite and motivate theteammates, to anticipate and prevent risks, conflicts and manage time efficiently. The results of theoretical researches of the importance of soft skills development forfuture primary school teachers of the New Ukrainian School were implemented with the students of Nizhyn Gogol State University (specialty 013 Primary Education).
