Abstract

The results are presented on introduction of valuable forage and medicinal plant — Serratula coronata L. in the conditions of middle taiga subzone (in latitude 62 o North and longitude 50 o East). It was revealed, that optimal time for laying-in of herbal substances — the phase of mass budding, when the sawwort plants can be accumulate of 5.6-6.4 kg/m 2 green mass and 1.4-1.5 kg/m 2 air-dried mass with maximal content of phytoecdysteroid compounds (0.73-0.85 %). The authors created the experimental samples of bioactive additions (Ecdysone and Metaveron), developed some agrotechnical methods of growing and application of this species. In the course of long-term investigations of complex economic valuable determinants the authors made the selection of the best variants with their subsequent studying in generations, that permit to isolate the improved introduction sorted population of Serratula coronata L.
