Abstract

Thermoplastic matrix of the composite has time-temperature dependent properties. Effect of damage between fiber and matrix on viscoelastic properties of fiber composites is considered. The interface between fiber and matrix slips from end of fiber during loading. It may cause nonlinear behavior of composites. The nonlinearity is discussed using a homogenization theory with two-scale asymptotic expansion to evaluate viscoelastic properties of composites. Effective constitutive relation and microscopic disturbed displacements are derived from the homogenization theory.
