Abstract

본 연구는 5가지 경북약용작물(홍화자, 향부자, 형개, 위유, 작약)의 항산화와 항염증 효과에 대해서 검증하였다. 추출은 70% 에탄올에서 추출하였다. 항산화 활성을 측정하기 위해 총플라보노이드, 폴리페놀 함량을 측정하였고, 추출물의 소거활성은 a-a-Diphenyl-<TEX>${\beta}$</TEX>-picrylhydrazyl (<TEX>$DPPH{\cdot}$</TEX>), 2,2-azino-bis 3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid (<TEX>$ABTS{\cdot}$</TEX>), ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP), superoxide anion 저해활성으로 측정하였다. 홍화자 추출물에서 높은 총 폴리페놀과 플라보노이드 함량과 뛰어난 <TEX>$DPPH{\cdot}$</TEX>, <TEX>$ABTS{\cdot}$</TEX>, FRAP, superoxide anion 소거활성을 나타내었다. 또한, 홍화자 추출물에서 가장 높은 NO 생성 저해 활성을 나타냈다. 그 결과 홍화자 추출물은 항산화와 항염증 활성에 효과를 가진 기능성 소재로 사용될 수 있을 것이다. This study was carried out to search for natural anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds from 5 medicinal plants (Carthamus tinctorius seed, Cyperus rotundus, Schizonepeta tenuifolia, Polygonatum odoratum var. pluriflorum, and Paeonia lactiflora). These plants were extracted with 70% ethanol. In order to measure total antioxidant activity of flavonoids, polyphenol content was measured. Radical scavenging activities of extracts were examined using a-a-Diphenyl-<TEX>${\beta}$</TEX>-picrylhydrazyl (<TEX>$DPPH{\cdot}$</TEX>), 2,2-azino-bis 3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid (<TEX>$ABTS{\cdot}$</TEX>), ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) and superoxide anion radical assays. C. tinctorius seed extracts showed the highest polyphenol and flavonoid contents as well as strong <TEX>$DPPH{\cdot}$</TEX>, <TEX>$ABTS{\cdot}$</TEX>, FRAP, and superoxide anion radical scavenging activity. Also, C. tinctorius seed extracts showed the highest nitric oxide (NO) production inhibitory effect. Theses results indicate that the C. tinctorius seed extracts can be used as a functional material due to their effective anti-oxidative and antiinflammatory activities.
