Abstract

We calculate the isospin breaking effect of ϱω mixing in the reaction np→d π 0 using the coupled channels method to incorporate intermediate NΔ states. This effect in the forward-backward asymmetry of the production cross section is found to be considerably larger than anticipated in an earlier calculation and to partly cancel the other contributions from the np mass difference and ηπ mixing.
