Abstract

Fresh rectal feces was examined in 208 cattle over a period from 1964 to 1970. Buxtonella sulcata JAMESON, 1926 was found in 64% of the cattle examined, but Balantidium in no cattle. In that species of Ciliata, the cytosome existed in the ventro- posterior portion of the body.A curved groove ran from the cytostome to the anterior end of the body. The cytopyge was found to be dorsal to the cytostome at the posterior end.
